After many years of being in the doldrums the industry is finally getting rid of its reputation for being the source and market of Europe's worst wines. Besides its own indigenous grape varieties, it is now also showing what it can do with imported varieties.
Greece's wine-making is re-emerging in the modern era, and quite a number of its highly sophisticated producers are on the threshold of international success.
